Position Title: Laboratory Technician

Position Overview:

  • Under the supervision of the Lab Manager and Quality Control Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician will perform laboratory analyses for quality assurance, process evaluation, and product innovation. This role is perfect for those aspiring to launch a career in this sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a continuous training program to master analytical testing techniques and equipment usage.
  • Calibrate and utilize various laboratory instruments for standard analyses.
  • Examine samples of raw materials, in-process materials, and final products.
  • Accurately document test results and compile comprehensive reports.
  • Conduct microbiological assessments and environmental evaluations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare chemical solutions according to established formulas.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices, maintain Lab Sanitation, and adhere to Safety protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lab Manager and QC Lab Supervisor to resolve issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Enology, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a laboratory setting related to wine or food.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and weekends as necessary.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • A valid California Driver's License is required.
