We are a leading provider of comprehensive programs infused with social-emotional learning (SEL) for students in grades K-8. Our mission is to transform the well-being of students, making them look forward to coming to school.
The RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Coach to join our team at North Monterey County Middle School. As a Coach, you will be responsible for leading social-emotional learning and enrichment activities for 7th-8th grade students, including STEAM, music, and Lego. You will also assist with homework completion and snack distribution, while ensuring student safety during outdoor activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead engaging lessons designed to increase excitement about learning
- Assist with homework completion and snack distribution
- Ensure student safety during outdoor activities
- Effectively manage student behavior (up to 20 students) with minimal assistance
- Work effectively with staff and embrace professional development
- Serve as a positive role model to the students to build kids' self-esteem and emotional wellness
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Pass a Live-Scan background check and TB screening
- 48 college credits or passing an IA exam
- 1-2 years of working experience in education, coaching, child development, or other child-focused experiences
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to engage in physical activities, including occasional running and other strenuous physical activity
- Successful experience working with elementary and/or middle school kids
- Ability to implement engaging lesson plans while maintaining accuracy and organization in activities
- Effective support for kids' behavioral management needs
- Ability to connect with students and foster positive learning experiences
- Comfortable utilizing online platforms for training and resources
- Collaborative skills with school administrators, parents, and fellow coaches
