Concrete Finisher

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team at M D Builders Inc. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on all concrete surfaces, from floors and walls to sidewalks and roads.

• Form, place, finish, protect, and repair all concrete surfaces according to specifications and drawings.
• Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Monitor the curing process of concrete and perform rough carpentry and concrete finishing work.
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete and waterproof or restore it.
• Direct the casting of concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
• Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
• Spread, level, and smooth concrete using a rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
• Set forms to the desired pitch and depth and align them.
• Finish concrete to specifications in all finish types, including slick trowel, broom finish, etc.
• Operate a trowel machine proficiently.
• Maintain proper grade for concrete throughout the process.
• Ensure flatness and tolerances per ACI or project specifications.
• Transfer grade elevations using a laser or building level.
• Assist in setting up a concrete pump.
• Understand AHJ details on right-of-way work.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Cement Finisher or similar role.
• Good vision, stamina, and hand-eye coordination.
• Proper use of chemicals, hand and power tools as they pertain to each task or surface treatment.
• Knowledge of slump, concrete testing, additives, curing procedures, spec requirements, weather conditions, and their effect on job conditions and finishing procedures.
• Knowledge of proper cross slopes and acceptable tolerances of all sidewalks, ADA ramps, curbs, driveways, and other concrete structures.
• Able to calculate concrete volume.
• Familiar with ACI standards.
• Lift and/or pull 50-100lbs, climb ladders, work off ladders, man lifts, or other equipment.
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time, fully squat, bend, or kneel while wearing a tool belt.
• Capable of working in a variety of weather conditions.

Compensation is based on geographical market data and an individual's overall job-related experience, knowledge, skills, education as applicable to the role and performance.

Base salary range for this role is listed below: $34.00-$35.00
