This is a unique opportunity to join the team at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Johnson, Louisiana, as a Dietitian. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Key Responsibilities- Assess health and nutrition history to develop personalized treatment plans
- Manage patient care through evidence-based nutrition therapy
- Provide weight reduction counseling to individuals enrolled in the Army Weight Control Program (AWCP)
- Develop individualized wellness plans based on comprehensive risk-factors for weight, tobacco, and alcohol use, exercise rates, nutritional status, and blood pressure
- Support holistic health promotion and wellness activities
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
- Immunization screening is required, including Hepatitis B immunization for all positions with direct patient contact
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or provide a recognized exemption
- Applicants must be able to fulfill non-privileged professional credential requirements
- A pre-placement medical examination is required
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing
- US Citizens are eligible to apply
- Basic Requirement for Dietitian: Bachelor's or graduate degree in dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science, or completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
- Specialized Experience: One year of experience providing patient care in medical nutrition therapy, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, or monitoring and evaluation, and educating patients, staff, or medical students on topics of nutrition
