Oncology Infusion Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Oncology Infusion Nurse to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe administration of chemotherapy and other medications.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate patient care needs and develop effective solutions to address any concerns or complaints.
- Assess patient learning needs and coordinate educational activities to promote informed decision-making.
- Manage venous access devices, including assessment and management of complications.
- Perform thorough nursing assessments prior to each infusion and throughout the procedure.
- Verify orders and products related to chemotherapy administration and monitor patients for untoward reactions.
- Calculate Body Surface Area for oncology patients and process prescription refills according to protocol.
- Provide telephone triage and consultation services to patients and families.
- Deliver patient and family education on chemotherapy and infusion processes.
- Draw labs for patient evaluation prior to chemotherapy administration and safely prepare infusion setups.
- Utilize effective communication strategies to collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Document patient information accurately and communicate concerns to department supervisors as needed.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program (RN or BSN) and current Washington State licensure.
- ONS Biotherapy & Chemotherapy Provider Card Oncology Nursing Certification (if not already obtained, it will be an expectation of employment once eligible).
- 1+ years of current clinical experience in an Oncology setting.
