Martha Franks Retirement Community is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents who participate in our Home Care program.
Key Responsibilities- Observation and Monitoring: Observe and monitor the health condition of residents under the supervision of trained nursing staff, maintaining constant visual observation of them, unless instructed otherwise by the nurse.
- Communication and Reporting: Listen to resident's concerns and inform the Director of Home Care of changes such as food intake, elimination, skin condition, behaviors and complaints, as directed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and legible records, as directed.
- Emergency Response: Respond and/or seek assistance to emergencies.
- Care Services Plan: Follow Care Services Plan with minimal supervision.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain the resident's environment providing comfort and safety and ensuring the resident is satisfied with the level of care they are receiving.
- Housekeeping and Laundry: Assist with light housekeeping and laundry.
- Meal Service and Transportation: Assist with meal service and transportation to appointments.
- Medication Reminders: Assist with medication reminders.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulations from DHEC, Fire and Safety, OSHA, Labor Laws, etc. and adhere to HIPAA confidentiality standards and Resident's Rights.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma (or GED) preferred; 1+ years' experience in health care, long term care or working with the frail or elderly preferred but not required.
- Language and Communication: Ability to read, speak and understand English.
- Skills and Abilities: Patience and physical stamina a must; positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required; good organization, time management and communication skills; committed to 100% customer satisfaction.
