Acoustic Field Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Acoustic Field Technician to support our Empire Winds pile driving efforts. As a key member of our team, you will work offshore on a vessel, processing and reporting acoustic data, and participating in the assembly, preparation, calibration, deployment, and retrieval of underwater acoustic instrumentation packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, process, analyze, and report acoustic measurement data.
- Download data from oceanographic equipment.
- Conduct routine mechanical and electrical assembly, disassembly, and maintenance and calibration of oceanographic instruments and moorings.
- Assist in the deployment and recovery of oceanographic equipment in the field.
- Unpack oceanographic instrumentation in preparation for shipping related to deployments.
- Clean and pack oceanographic instrumentation after recovery.
- Conduct required administrative tasks such as data logging and required paperwork.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. AIS benefits package includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick and holiday benefits.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year sea-going experience required.
- Experience with the operation of mechanical and electronic equipment.
- Ability to understand, express and apply concepts and instructions of a general nature as well as somewhat technical/scientific/administrative precepts, concepts, methods, and procedures.
- Ability to perform physically and mentally demanding tasks.
- Ability to troubleshoot oceanographic instrumentation preferred.
