Project Engineer

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join its Structures Division. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date project progress information, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring project safety and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate project cost reports and coordinate with the project team to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of deliveries, equipment, and subcontractors to meet project objectives.
  • Work closely with the project manager to develop and implement project plans, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to requisition materials and ensure proper coding of invoices.
  • Develop and maintain daily diaries of work activities, including manpower, equipment, and material deliveries.
  • Process change orders and technical problems with clients, suppliers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
  • Review project cost reports with the project team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety of the workforce, site, and motoring public to meet project safety requirements.
  • Visit project sites regularly to troubleshoot and ensure project quality.
  • Oversee project security and safety.
  • Assist in preparing project AIA Billing requisitions.
  • Review all purchase orders, delivery tickets, subcontractor requisitions, and invoices to ensure accurate coding for project costing.
  • Maintain all project files, including submittals, shop drawings, maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, and punch lists.
  • Maintain all owner-required documentation in an organized manner.
  • Occasionally meet with subcontractors and suppliers for project coordination.
  • Maintain a log for all submittals and shop drawings.
  • Meet or exceed project objectives as determined in the pre-job planning process.
