Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 annually based on experience
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a qualified Construction Management Representative for a notable project at Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, TN. We are committed to fostering a diverse workforce and providing opportunities for professionals to engage in a wide array of projects.
Project Overview:
This role encompasses construction services related to the rehabilitation of the Laurel Falls Trail within Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Key components of the project include the demolition and removal of the existing asphalt trail, trail rehabilitation and widening as necessary, installation of retaining walls and culverts, construction of viewing platforms and rest areas, new stone veneer retaining walls, restoration of vegetation, and the development of new asphalt parking areas. This initiative aims to enhance parking availability at Laurel Falls, the park's most frequented trailhead, providing 54 new parking spaces across two locations. These improvements are designed to support the park's efforts in managing visitor levels in high-traffic areas, mitigating resource damage caused by unrestricted roadside parking and social trails.
Responsibilities:
- Offer technical guidance and support to the Contracting Officer during construction activities.
- Interpret and comprehend construction contract plans and specifications.
- Organize, attend, and facilitate various meetings, including weekly site meetings.
- Document issues and challenges encountered with the construction contractor.
- Review the contractor's baseline and progress schedules.
- Draft project-related correspondence for review and issuance by the NPS.
- Conduct inspections during and after construction, including mock-up inspections.
- Evaluate the construction contractor's work for progress, quality, and compliance with contract documents and safety standards.
- Deliver reports, evaluations, and design work to the Contracting Officer.
- Review and process Requests for Information (RFIs) from the construction contractor, assisting in resolution and follow-up.
- Education leading to a degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction Management.
- Completion of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training is mandatory.
- Proficient knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Experience in cost estimating, including labor, materials, and equipment for proposed modifications.
- Ability to assess payment requests effectively.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plans, schedules, and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Familiarity with software tools such as MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, ProjectTeam, Primavera, and MS Project.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Effective communication skills with a diverse range of individuals.
- Capacity to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to walk and climb stairs or ladders daily for observation and inspection purposes.
