Position Summary

The Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician is accountable for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring the fulfillment of Air Methods' mission, objectives, and goals. This role entails managing the daily operations of all aircraft maintenance services while prioritizing safety above all else. Candidates should possess a minimum of 7-10 years of experience with EC 130s or various rotorcraft. The Lead Technician will be responsible for operations at multiple bases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide input for staff evaluations as requested by management.
- Conduct audits of maintenance locations to ensure compliance with aviation standards, tool calibrations, and safety protocols.
- Address feedback related to flight issues and assist in resolving them or escalate as necessary.
- Participate in program meetings and training sessions.
- Collaborate with other department leads regarding maintenance and operational aspects.
- Assist management with employee scheduling and resource allocation.
- Serve as a key resource for disseminating new information and resolving issues.
- Ensure that all maintenance documentation complies with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies.
- Verify the accuracy of aircraft maintenance records and compliance with required inspections.
- Schedule maintenance activities and provide updates on aircraft status to management.
- Engage in maintenance forecasting and provide scheduling input for components.
- Offer troubleshooting support to remote mechanics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability for on-call duties during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Regular attendance is crucial for this role.
- Willingness to travel periodically to support operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical school; five years of relevant experience preferred.
- Manufacturer-specific training on company aircraft is advantageous.
Skills:
- Proficient in electrical troubleshooting and vibration-balancing techniques.
- Experience with sheet metal and composite repair procedures.
- Ability to interpret various technical documents.
- Capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
- Strong teamwork and professional demeanor.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Flexibility to work overtime and on-call as required.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with RAMCO software is preferred.
Certifications:
- FAA A&P License in good standing.
- Inspection Authorization (IA) is preferred.
