Pet Stylist

At Petco, we're passionate about providing exceptional pet care and services to our customers. As a Junior Pet Stylist, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality grooming services to our furry friends.

We're seeking a motivated and animal-loving individual to join our grooming team. As a Junior Pet Stylist, you'll work closely with experienced groomers to learn the skills and techniques necessary to provide top-notch grooming services. You'll assist with bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, while prioritizing the comfort, safety, and well-being of our pets.

• Assist experienced groomers with grooming services, including bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Ensure the well-being and safety of every animal in the salon at all times.
• Interact professionally and effectively with pet parents, providing optimal customer service and addressing grooming-related inquiries.
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area and salon, disinfecting and sanitizing grooming tools and equipment.
• Schedule grooming appointments, manage paperwork, and maintain accurate grooming records.

We're committed to providing ongoing training and development opportunities to help you grow and succeed in your role. As a Junior Pet Stylist, you'll participate in a comprehensive training program that covers dog behavior, pet and self-safety, customer service, and grooming policies.

• 0-1 year of animal-related experience, including shelter volunteering or pet sitting.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required.
• Genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming.
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices.
• Capable of handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with pet parents and grooming team members.

The majority of job duties are conducted indoors in the grooming salon. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time. Position may require exposure to heights using a two-step ladder or other support tools, such as vacuums, to perform assigned cleaning and maintenance duties.
