The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the overall maintenance of all facility equipment, including heat treat furnaces, conveyor equipment, washers, air compressors, shop blast equipment, salt bath/coating production line, gas generators, and air dryers. This role will involve direct management of five maintenance technicians, maintenance of the spare part and supply inventory system through our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and effective trouble-shooting methods of repair for equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Management: Supervise and manage a team of five maintenance technicians to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of facility equipment.
- Maintenance of Spare Parts and Supply Inventory: Maintain the spare part and supply inventory system through our CMMS to ensure that all necessary parts and supplies are available for maintenance and repair.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Develop and implement effective trouble-shooting methods of repair for equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation.
- Maintenance Records: Monitor and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including vendor history, contractors, project costs, and other relevant information.
- Partnership with Purchasing: Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement of parts and supplies.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement an ongoing preventative maintenance system to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime.
- Capital Investment Assessment: Participate in the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of capital investment projects to improve business operations and efficiency.
- Team Meetings: Participate in team meetings to provide updates on current and upcoming maintenance demands and projects.
- Maintenance Tickets: Respond to maintenance tickets and execute timely resolutions to ensure minimal downtime.
- Education: High school education or equivalent.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical systems.
- Maintenance Systems: Working knowledge of maintenance systems and software.
- Experience: 7 years of experience in a maintenance role in a production/manufacturing environment with machinery, and 3 years of experience in staff supervision as a manager.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, shift priorities quickly, and execute as needed.
- Blueprint Reading: Experience reading and comprehending blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to customer locations to assist in contractor management up to 1 week four times per year and a twice/month day trip.
- PLC Knowledge: Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is desirable.
- Safety Practices: Familiarity with current safety practices and willingness to obtain company-sponsored training upon hire.
