About the RoleWe are seeking an Inspector II to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities, in SHA District 6, during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.
Key Responsibilities- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
- Gather and maintain record documents.
- Make field notes and computations.
- High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience).
- 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience.
- Active driver's license.
- Preferred: Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
