This role performs various tasks related to dishwashing, sanitation, and food preparation, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate dishwashing equipment, sort and rinse dishes, and transport clean tray components to designated areas.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment, floors, and walls in the dish room and adjoining areas, and transport trash and supplies to assigned locations.
  • Work in the pot room washing pots manually and by machine, following established procedures.
  • Assemble patient trays, plate food according to patient menus, and transport food carts and supplies to and from the kitchen.
  • Communicate with peers and management regarding hazards in the workplace, follow correct procedures for cleaning and sanitation, and report accidents promptly.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • One year experience in food service or housekeeping preferred.
  • Food Handlers Permit required, obtained through accredited training course approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services or the American National Standards Institute.

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, following established procedures, and adhering to regulatory agencies' standards. The Steward must be able to adapt to changing situations, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team environment.
