We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Yale New Haven Health. As a Perioperative Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Periop-101 - OR RN Residency Program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery and procedures.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Participate in the Periop-101 - OR RN Residency Program, which provides comprehensive training and development opportunities for new graduate RNs and experienced non-OR RNs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and supportive care environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices, technologies, and evidence-based guidelines to provide the highest level of care.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Clinical specialty certification in cardiovascular nursing or a related field.
- Experience working in a cardiovascular operating room or perioperative setting.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
This position requires prolonged standing, walking, and use of sight, hearing, and touch. You may be exposed to infectious diseases and will be working in an environment with moderate stress and risk of injury from patient care.
