Medical Imaging Technician

About the Job:
Duke Health's Diagnostic Imaging department is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography (CT) technologist to join our team. As a CT technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT scanners, performing exams, and working closely with radiologists to deliver exceptional patient care.
Main Duties:
- Operate CT scanners and associated equipment according to radiation safety protocols.
- Position patients using patient positioning devices and protective gear as necessary.
- Conduct exams precisely in line with established protocols, policies, and patient safety standards.
- Work alongside radiologists to perform imaging procedures, including inserting IVs and administering contrast.
- Examine CT scans for technical quality and arrange processed images in sequence of exposure.
- Arrange patient schedules and support with administrative tasks.
- Log charges and supplies in electronic health records.
- Distribute and order oral contrast for patients undergoing CT scans.
- Preserve precise patient records.
- Guide and instruct novice CT technologists and students.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and the efficient flow of individuals through the facility.
Necessary Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a graduate degree or completion of a program that fulfills eligibility criteria for registration/certification and possess the required certification or registration. Certification in one of the following areas is necessary: Radiography (R), Radiation Therapy (T), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), or CNMT. Furthermore, ARRT registration in Computed Tomography (CT) is required within 18 months of employment.
