Job Summary

This role is responsible for the receipt and processing of biological specimens, preparation of samples for testing, and performance of waived and moderately complex tests. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a department supervisor and may provide training to entry-level employees. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform all essential functions as defined by the department, including waived and moderately complex testing, with a high level of competency.
  2. Recognize and respond to abnormal patient and/or QC results, ensuring accuracy and follow-through on problem-solving.
  3. Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  4. Contribute to projects and initiatives identified by the supervisor, demonstrating self-motivation and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  5. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, promoting positive relationships and teamwork.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of laboratory software and systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
