Senior Vice President of Contract Surety Underwriting

IAT Insurance Group is actively seeking a skilled Senior Vice President of Contract Surety Underwriting to become a vital member of our team. In this capacity, you will report directly to the Chief Underwriting Officer for Contract Surety and will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting and marketing functions for our Contract Surety and Specialty Surety divisions. You will also lead the management of Regional Profit Centers in both Contract and Specialty Surety.

As a key player in the Home Office Underwriting Management Team, your role will involve strategic planning and collaboration with various divisions within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in contract surety and commercial surety matters. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, promoting a healthy balance between in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite and oversee Contract and Specialty Surety operations
  • Support regional offices in meeting financial objectives
  • Develop and implement underwriting guidelines
  • Engage in planning and policy-making committees
  • Establish and manage regional goals and objectives
  • Supervise Regional Managers and their teams
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets
  • Review and authorize expense accounts
  • Provide training and guidance to team members
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers on marketing strategies
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge
  • Participate in industry events to enhance company visibility
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with over 10 years of relevant experience in the Surety industry
  • Significant experience in Contract Surety
  • Proven supervisory experience and coaching capabilities
  • Strong strategic planning skills
  • Ability to drive change and challenge existing processes
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities
  • Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with commercial surety

Compensation:
