Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Multimodal Imaging Technologist 2 to join our team at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. As a key member of our Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce diagnostic imaging studies in at least two specialized imaging modalities.
  • Specialize in all areas of general diagnostic radiology and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of a specialized modality.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all protocols pertaining to all specified modalities, including preparation and maintenance of respective equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies.
  • Operate equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.
  • Position patients on examining tables and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specific areas of the body.
  • Educate and explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Ensure safety procedures adherence by assessing patients physically and reviewing applicable notes and forms in patient files.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies, select appropriate exposure factors, and imaging parameters.
  • Oversee safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment, troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Perform daily quality assurance measurements on equipment and report and document any equipment issues to senior staff.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and Graduate of a Radiologic Technology accredited program.
  • Certification and licensure in relevant specialty or field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
