The Department of Defense Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) at the 82nd MDG, Sheppard AFB, TX, has a requirement for a Physician Assistant to contribute to a stable workforce tasked with providing health care services to a diverse beneficiary population.

Responsibilities
  • Provides outpatient health care to qualifying beneficiaries as scheduled by the Government.
  • Care shall include but not be limited to continuing, comprehensive health maintenance and medical care to the entire family regardless of sex, age, or type of problem.
  • Maintain a program of comprehensive health for the family unit, including preventive medicine, behavioral sciences, and community health.
  • May become the primary care manager for a panel of patients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant.
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Experience in meeting clinical competency requirements.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Competent in using electronic medical record systems; knowledge of computer operations and competency in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be a fully qualified typist with 40 WPM.
  • Health Restrictions: Employees will have no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with the performance of duties.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • The additional immunization/ screening requirements for the risk of exposure to hepatitis virus (Hep B) and screening for tuberculosis (TB).
