Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumber Journeyman to join our team at the University of Missouri-Columbia. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing skilled work on a journey level in the installation, maintenance, service, and repair of all components of plumbing systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain water, air, vacuum, gas, hot water, distilled water, acid, and chemical distribution lines and systems.
  • Perform soldering, gluing, threading of joints, and cabling and camera sanitary, storm, and grease drain lines.
  • Inspect, test, service, and maintain water softening equipment.
  • Clean, maintain, safely operate, and properly store all tools and equipment.
  • Observe and enforce all safety requirements related to equipment operation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of actual work experience and training in the trade.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, and plumbing diagrams.
  • Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment, and materials of applicable trade.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and otherwise use small to large trades tools and equipment.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
