At Florist Distributing Inc., we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Delivery Driver to join our team. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for transporting perishable goods, including flowers, plants, and lawn & garden products, to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver packages to designated locations on time
  • Assist in loading company trucks for delivery of product
  • Sort packages by route, customer, or commodity
  • Understand proper packaging techniques for all items, including fresh, perishable, flowers and durable goods
  • Assist in the packaging of fresh flowers
  • Use a dolly or two-wheeler to load/unload product
  • Collect empty containers, rejected, or unsold merchandise from the customer
  • Obtain customer's signature on shipping manifest
  • Refuel company vehicles using corporate fleet card
  • Advise company of routine maintenance needed on company vans
  • Perform duties in a timely manner
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary
Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driver's license and provide a Department of Transportation driving record
  • Must be at least age 18
  • Ability to read and obey MSDS information on products
  • Must have the ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers
Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a warehouse setting. There is frequent exposure to noise and continual exposure to warehouse temperature changes.

Equipment Used To Perform Job:

Company van, two-wheel hand truck, knife, pallet jack, and four-wheel carts.
