We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at VCU Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Provide age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner.
- Assist with patient exams, procedures, and treatments as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association.
- One year of medical assistant work experience within the last three years (or equivalent experience).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Two to three years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Previous experience in an academic healthcare environment.
This role requires prolonged standing, sitting, and walking, as well as frequent bending and reaching. The ability to lift 20-50 pounds is also required.
