We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Holy Cross Health. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating continuing educational activities for designated clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote breastfeeding for optimal health and well-being of infants.
  • Assess and document maternal and infant health and breastfeeding goals.
  • Provide breastfeeding education and counseling to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with and serve as a resource to medical and nursing staff for questions related to lactation, milk storage and handling or contraindications for breastfeeding.
  • Maintain unit and patient flow, census & assignment boards and records.
  • Process orders/requests for supplies/equipment.
  • Assist with admission/transfer/discharge process.
  • Monitor continuously for baby alarms and doors for the secure locked unit.
  • Assist Physicians and Nurses with workflow as needed.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associates Degree Nursing acceptable)
  • Current licensure by Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
  • Board certified as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
  • AHA BLS CPR
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal, written) and fluency in the English language.
  • Visual and auditory acuity.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish color.
