Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients under the direction of a physician.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care directions to nursing and other staff
  • Evaluate outcomes of direct patient care and consult with other specialists as required
  • Adjust nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care
  • Arrange for patients' ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of recording on patient medical records
  • Provide preventative health care services to long-term patients and arrange consultations and referrals
  • Perform physical exams and prescribe and recommend treatment and drugs

Our hospital offers a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. We are a teaching facility, affiliated with the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine.

Requirements
  • Advanced Nursing Degree required/Master's Degree required
  • Experience in specialty area
  • Experience in both clinical and management areas required
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and market services
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer, team, and interdepartmental orientation based on CQI principals
  • Current Texas State Advanced Practice Nurse license
  • CPR-(American Heart Association)
