Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver nursing services to patients living with or at risk for HIV within an outpatient clinic environment. The Clinical RN will report administratively to the Clinic Nurse Manager and will be clinically overseen by the Medical Director. All clinical personnel are expected to provide care in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures and protocols set forth by the Medical Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct specialized assessments and treatments for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) following established protocols.
  • Assist healthcare providers in performing thorough evaluations of patient health needs.
  • Administer treatments, medications, and vaccines while delivering preventive and ongoing care in line with clinic policies.
  • Collect necessary specimens for diagnostic screening.
  • Provide counseling and education on adherence, sexual health, and risk reduction strategies.
  • Evaluate patient adherence and response to treatment regimens.
  • Perform triage for walk-in patients and manage phone triage as needed.
  • Report infectious diseases to relevant health authorities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans.
  • Comply with agency policies, ensure follow-up care, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Engage in the clinic's Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of clinic care standards and procedures.
  • Act as the charge nurse in the absence of the Clinic Nurse Manager.
  • Supervise unlicensed assistive personnel in patient care activities in coordination with the Clinic Nurse Manager.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations and agency policies regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing medical supply inventory.
  • Maintain ongoing education requirements for licensure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Preferred experience in:
  • Outpatient ambulatory care settings.
  • STI and HIV care.
  • National HIV certification.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
