Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse with American Oncology Network LLC, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our Woodlands Cancer Institute. Key Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients as ordered by physicians, adhering to ONS standards and guidelines.
• Ensure accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, following OSHA and HRS guidelines.
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and document treatment rendered in OncoEMR, ensuring accurate charges are captured.
• Follow Company policies and procedures, including I.D. policy and procedure, to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
• Educate patients and families about medications, side effects, and treatment plans, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
• Provide telephone triage services, prioritizing calls and responding accordingly in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory and restocking medical supplies, recommending purchases as needed.
• Maintain working knowledge of Nucleus and perform cycle counts, restocking medications within the required timeframe.
• Enter patient charges into Nucleus and attend annual Safety/OSHA training meetings, as well as mandatory staff meetings.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of employment, with experience in IV therapy.
• Experience working with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting is required.
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations are essential.
• Current CPR and BLS certifications are required, as well as fluency in the English language and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A valid driver's license is necessary for travel to clinics.
