We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant. Our mission is to enhance the efficiency and productivity of our healthcare professionals in a clinical environment.

As an Ophthalmic Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our physicians by anticipating their needs, ensuring clear communication with patients and staff, and effectively managing multiple tasks to maintain smooth clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately document patient case histories, visual assessments, and other essential evaluations as directed by the physician.
  • Thoroughly record ophthalmic examinations and procedures in real-time during patient visits.
  • Manage patient scheduling and oversee patient flow within the clinic, providing timely updates on any delays.
  • Conduct various patient tests as instructed by the clinical team, including but not limited to Slit Lamp Exams, Visual Fields, and Tonometry.
  • Communicate physician instructions to patients effectively and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas, ensuring all supplies are stocked at the end of each day.
  • Ensure all medical equipment is properly turned off and stored at the conclusion of the workday.
  • Participate in training sessions and webinars as required by the Clinical Manager.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or Associate Degree in a relevant field is highly preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in ophthalmology as a scribe or technician is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, including proper grammar and writing abilities, are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently is crucial.
