Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Quality Assurance and Training, this role plays a crucial part in supporting the administration and execution of the training and quality assurance initiatives at CCM.

The primary focus of this position is to design and deliver educational programs for researchers and staff, manage training materials, and ensure adherence to CCM's standard operating procedures alongside all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the management and execution of CCM's training initiatives.
  • Develop and facilitate orientation and training sessions for new research personnel, covering hands-on practices, species-specific training, facility access protocols, and non-human primate orientation.
  • Provide on-the-job training for Husbandry Staff in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assessing their competency through ongoing evaluation.
  • Support the administration of AALAS certification courses.
  • Contribute to the implementation of CCM's Continuing Education Program, including monthly training sessions and weekly staff meetings as necessary.
  • Aid in the management of CCM's Quality Assurance Program.
- Assist in the creation and revision of SOPs, policies, and guidelines pertinent to the training program.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of training materials for Husbandry Technical Trainers.
  • Document training activities for CCM Husbandry Staff and research personnel.
  • Conduct water quality assessments and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with training related to Medical Records and DVMAX.
  • Support the Controlled Substances program.
  • Help manage the CCM Employee Recognition program.
  • Evaluate research personnel's compliance with CCM and IACUC SOPs, policies, and guidelines.
- Support the Occupational Health Program and Safety Training to ensure compliance with CCM policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the Occupational Health program, including TB test scheduling and record management.
- Manage Animal Colony and Inventory for Training and Water Testing Supplies.
  • Order and maintain supplies related to training and water quality testing.
  • Oversee the training animal colony (e.g., rats/rabbits).
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in a science-related field or equivalent coursework.
  • AALAS certification at the LAT level.
  • Three years of experience in a training or quality assurance environment.
Minimum Competencies:
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of laboratory animal care.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Dependability and efficiency.
  • Sound judgment.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in PowerPoint and multimedia tools.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field or equivalent coursework.
  • AALAS certification at the LATG level.
  • More than five years of experience in a training or quality assurance environment.

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is between $28.00 to $37.00 per hour, with the final salary determined by the applicant's qualifications and experience.
