About the Role

">

The Medical Laboratory Supervisor II is a leadership position responsible for overseeing multiple functions in a clinical laboratory setting. This includes monitoring laboratory testing, workflow, and results reporting to ensure quality and efficiency.

As a supervisor, you will be responsible for providing direction, communication, and oversight to teammates regarding departmental tasks and assignments. You will also participate in the development of and compliance with all departmental policies and procedures for performance and quality assurance.

You will serve as a resource to teammates, providing support to training and competency programs, and monitor performance to established targets, goals, or metrics. You will also identify opportunities for process improvement within the department and between lab business lanes for efficiencies.

Leadership Responsibilities

">

You will provide leadership to direct reports by facilitating the resolution of organizational obstacles, implementing DaVita's employment policies and procedures, and fostering a positive work environment. You will assist in teammate development through performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, and professional development goals.

You will manage teammates' employment activity, including hiring, promoting, job performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. You will maintain accurate records, including written performance evaluations and staff records kept in compliance with DaVita policy and applicable laws.

Work Flow and Delegation

">

You will monitor work flow and delegate responsibilities to team members, establish staffing plans to promote effective use of teammates, and resolve operational and quality issues related to workload. You will ensure coverage during teammates' absences and cover work benches as needed.

Quality Improvement and Compliance

">

You will maintain an active role in the laboratory's quality improvement program, safety policies, and ensure levels of compliance with established laboratory outcome standards are met. You will collaborate with other leaders to develop and implement section-specific Standard Operating Procedures, training programs, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

">

To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist/Supervisor. You should hold a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, biological sciences, or a related field. A Florida Supervisors license in Chemistry and certification by a professional laboratory certifying agency (i.e. ASCP, AMT) are also required.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $95,000 - $115,000 per year, based on experience.
