SUMMARY:

As a Compliance and Coding Specialist at Alameda Health System, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of medical records and coding compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and coding principles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyze and assess risks related to billing and coding rules and regulations.

2. Evaluate the quality of clinical documentation and monitor its appropriateness.

3. Partner with various departments to develop and implement standardized documentation, coding, and billing policies.

4. Perform coding audits and investigations as needed.

5. Prepare and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements:

A minimum of five years of direct coding, compliance, and auditing experience. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P).
