Job Summary

We're seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Internal Resource Pool (IRP) team. As an IRP RN, you'll have the flexibility to work on short- or long-term assignments within our Mass General Brigham Hospitals, enjoying a premium rate of pay. This is an exciting opportunity for nurses who value flexibility, variety, and the chance to work on different types of units and hospitals within our system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide competent, compassionate patient- and family-centered nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Articulate the professional nursing role to the patient, family, and health team members.
  • Identify, plan, and implement nursing interventions, facilitating and evaluating outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.
  • Coordinate involvement of the patient, family, and health team members in patient care, including patient/family education, teaching, and discharge planning.
  • Document relevant patient data/information.
  • Communicate the plan of care and other pertinent information to/from other health care team members, promoting continuity of care through effective hand-offs.
  • Help define standards of excellence for patient care, participating in improvement of patient care services in a cost-effective way.
  • Perform specific functions as described in the unit Scope of Service.
  • Provide care appropriate to the age group of patients on assigned unit(s) as described in relevant unit Scope of Service.
  • Participate in, and contribute to, performance improvement activities.
  • Integrate the six aims of performance improvement into care delivery: safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency, and equity.
  • Exhibit compliance with regulatory and quality and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum BSN required.
