Pediatric Ophthalmology Physician Specialist

Ophthalmology physicians can expect a competitive salary and benefits package, including a productivity-based incentive plan after year 2. The plan allows for a percentage of collections to be kept after practice expenses, currently at 57%. A sign-on bonus of $10k to $15k is also offered. Relocation assistance is available to support the transition to the new role.
Work-Life BalanceThe practice offers a generous PTO package, including 14 paid holidays and 30 additional days off, including sick time. This accrues yearly, providing a healthy work-life balance. The practice also offers a comprehensive CME package, including $5k and days off for professional development.
Benefits and RetirementThe practice offers a full benefit package, including medical and health benefits through Empire BC/BS, as well as extensive retirement and pension offerings. A 403(b) plan is available, with a 12% employer contribution, vested after 3 years. Malpractice and tail coverage are also provided.
Responsibilities and Facility DetailsOphthalmology physicians will be busy within the first 6 months, with a high volume of patients to see. The practice is currently booked out 3 to 4 months in advance, with a 95% clinical practice. The schedule includes 4 x 8-hour shifts per week, with 36 patient hours. Surgery is performed 1 day a week, with a mix of clinic and surgical cases.
Support Staff and EquipmentThe practice has a great support staff, including 2 scribes, 3 techs, and 3 exam rooms per provider. Additional staff includes a research coordinator, 2.5 photographers, 3 OPTs, 1 NP, and 1 Orthoptist per diem. The practice uses Med Flow in the clinic and Cerner at the hospital, with a range of equipment available, including OCT-Sirrus 5000, Fundus Camera, and more.
Call and QualificationsOphthalmology physicians will be on third-round call, with residents taking first and second-round call. Board certification is required, with a focus on pediatric ophthalmology. The practice is located in a beautiful area, with easy access to beaches, shopping, and outdoor recreation. Top-rated private and public schools are nearby, with a local airport and train service also available.
