Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Per Diem Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services and administrative tasks for JAG Physical Therapy. This role involves coordinating medical and risk management for athletes, ensuring effective communication and documentation.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing athletic trainer services and applicable administrative tasks to persons and organizations affiliated with JAG Athletic Training outreach athletic training contracts.

This position requires flexibility, critical thinking, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to support athlete care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of athletic training principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide athletic trainer services for athletic events and competition
  • Coordinate, manage, and implement the medical and risk management of all athletes, inclusive of preventative care (taping, bracing, etc.) and emergency care (CPR, first aid, etc.)
  • Demonstrate speed, efficiency, and flexibility in the provisions of care, utilizing effective critical thinking skills
  • Document injury, illness, treatment, rehabilitation, etc., in adherence with JAG Athletic Training policy, contracted site policy, and state of licensure professional practice standards
  • Utilize effective communication skills to involve athlete, family, and others as necessary and appropriate in plan of care (within HIPPA/FERPA guidelines)
  • Collaborate with other JAG professionals in programs such as Physical Therapy and refer for service when needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training (CAATE Approved program) and completion of the BOC certification
  • Maintain the BOC-required 50 CEU's per certification period (every two years)
  • Licensed by the State of New York as an Athletic Trainer
  • Current BLS certification
  • Maintain Personal Liability Insurance
  • Flexibility and adaptability necessary to adjust to fluid situations

Salary:

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
