Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our team at Heritage Environmental Services, LLC. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at our permitted waste treatment facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and process solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with Company, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Operate a fork truck and Bob Cat with attachments, as well as a hydraulic baler for cardboard and other materials.
  • Direct liquid waste through a system of pumps to tanks for storage.
  • Perform basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed.
  • Utilize barcode system equipment to document inventory activities.
  • Review laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materials.
  • Use Department of Transportation (DOT) knowledge to match and label inbound materials for storage and shipping of containers to other sites.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of related experience and 24-40 hour HAZWOPER certificate preferred.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Basic knowledge of EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator.
