Position Overview
The Electrical Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role within our team. This position is responsible for safely executing maintenance tasks to construct, repair, and maintain all equipment in optimal working condition while minimizing associated costs to achieve plant objectives. Our Maintenance Team is skilled in various trades and is capable of participating in maintenance activities across multiple disciplines. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Complete maintenance projects with minimal supervision, demonstrating a proactive approach to reducing equipment downtime and enhancing production efficiency. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems in operation. Disassemble and inspect devices to access and replace faulty components. Communicate effectively with fellow technicians and production personnel, both verbally and through written correspondence. Set up and operate shop machinery, including drill presses, grinders, band saws, cutting torches, and welders. Utilize hand and pneumatic tools for modification or repair of parts and equipment. Install, repair, or modify electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as required. Work towards improving the reliability and uptime of all machinery. Operate forklifts and aerial lift platforms as necessary. Research and procure supplies, parts, and tools essential for efficiently completing work orders. Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of parts through effective use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Contribute to the maintenance of required documentation, including records, maintenance logs, manuals, and PM logs. Support the company's vision, mission, and guiding principles. Adhere to applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations while performing job responsibilities. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Required Education and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Windows. Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints for planning and troubleshooting purposes. Mathematical skills for performing operations involving weight, volume, and distance, along with the ability to understand nonverbal symbols (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex issues. Manual dexterity to operate a variety of hand tools, forklifts, mechanical platforms, and other equipment. Experience in industrial electrical work, including familiarity with 3-phase motors and voltages up to 480V.Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or a related field; or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent.Certifications:
Specific craft certifications or licenses are advantageous. Technical education is a plus.Benefits
