Job Description

This role will serve as a dual position of Bereavement and Volunteer Coordinator. The successful candidate will support patients by planning, implementing, and maintaining a bereavement program to meet the needs of families/caregivers.

Taking on this challenge offers a chance to make a meaningful impact with your career today. Our Hospice Bereavement Coordinators are the heart of our organization who support patients through grief counseling and other essential services.

  • Coordinate assessment and delivery of grief counseling needs and services to ensure timely and appropriate services are provided.
  • Plan for Bereavement Program development, expansion, and refinement through annual evaluation of services.
  • Provide bereavement support to hospice personnel coping with work-related grief.
  • Offer bereavement information and referral services to callers from the community.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent theological degree or Master's degree in Social Work with qualifications of experience clinical grief counseling.
  • An understanding of grief response and experience with counseling individuals and/or groups in loss.
  • Experience with death and dying.
  • Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
