Job Summary:

Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) is a leading domestic and international freight forwarder in the United States, providing customized logistics and warehousing solutions for clients around the world and across all industries via air, ground, and ocean freight. As a Senior SQL Developer, you will be responsible for production support of all software and integrations developed by the Software Engineering teams, including EDI, XML, and flat file integrations, managed file transfers, and database integrations, web applications, and APIs.

**Responsibilities:**

* Design, develop, and maintain relational databases and data warehouses.
* Create efficient database schemas, tables, indexes, and constraints to support business applications.
* Implement database objects such as stored procedures, triggers, and functions to automate processes and enforce business rules.
* Participate in code reviews and commit changes to source control (GitHub).
* SQL Query Optimization: Performance tune existing SQL objects using all available metrics and tools.
* Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large volumes of data.
* Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in SQL Queries and database operations.
* Tune database configurations and query execution plans for optimal performance.

**Requirements:**

* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 3-5 years of experience.
* Strong proficiency in SQL programming, including complex query writing, optimization, and performance tuning.
* Experience with relational database management operations for Microsoft SQL Server.
* Experience with SQL Server upgrades preferred.
* Knowledge of data modeling techniques and database design principles.
* Experience with ETL tools and processes.
* Familiarity with database administration tasks such as backup, recovery, and security.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
* Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
* Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts.
* Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis.
* Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
