Job Summary

As a Quality Assurance Inspector at METRO, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and evaluating vehicle maintenance work to ensure compliance with METRO standards and OEM recommendations. You will oversee work performed by METRO contractors, respond to and investigate incidents, and provide technical assistance and training to personnel. This role requires a strong working knowledge of bus maintenance and electronic diagnostic systems, as well as excellent human relations and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and inspect bus maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with METRO standards and OEM recommendations.
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of maintenance work and service performed by METRO staff and contractors.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, including determining root cause and developing recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to personnel on procedures and equipment.
  • Assist in the development of work procedures and standards.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, with additional technical/vocational training or engineering courses preferred. A minimum of five years of direct, hands-on bus mechanical experience and three years of supervisory/managerial experience are also required. A valid Texas CDL class B license with a P endorsement is necessary, as well as the ability to pass a reading, math, and mechanical assessment prior to interview.
