Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Construction Engineering Inspector to join our team at Harrison Consulting Solutions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled inspector to work on various transportation and municipal projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and testing requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Daily communication with project team members, clients, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Read and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify potential issues and discrepancies.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of underground utilities, road, and bridge items, reporting any findings to the Project Engineer.
  • Foster a culture of quality assurance and quality control by following established practices and procedures.
  • Evaluate installed materials to ensure they meet specifications and testing requirements.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and review other reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Requirements:
  • An Associate's Degree in Civil Technology or a related field is required; a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of construction/inspection experience, including field and office experience in transportation and municipal projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in bridge/roadway construction inspection.
  • Experience working on Michigan construction projects.
  • Multiple MDOT certifications are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Fieldbook, and Microsoft Office is essential.
