The Dell Medical School, in collaboration with Dell Children's Medical Center, is on the lookout for skilled Advanced Practice Nurses to join the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease.

These professionals will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address the increasing demands of the regional pediatric population, ensuring the delivery of exceptional pediatric heart care.

Purpose:

In partnership with supervising physicians, the role focuses on enhancing individualized healthcare services by diagnosing and managing pediatric and congenital heart conditions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect patient history and conduct assessments through observation, interviews, and examinations. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Document healthcare delivery and nursing processes in line with specialty standards and nursing policies.
  • Engage in the orientation and education of staff and students.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nursing or a Physician Assistant license from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants.

Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority or Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentials are required. A Master's degree and experience in acute care settings, particularly with pediatric patients suffering from complex congenital and acquired heart diseases, are essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision are necessary. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers are crucial.


Salary Range:
$120,000 + based on qualifications
