We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician II to join our team at Discovery Mood & Anxiety Programs. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities- Orienting New Patients
Ensure a smooth transition for new patients by orienting them to our treatment program, its requirements, and routine. Complete necessary assessments within 24 hours of admission.
- Monitoring Patient Safety
Monitor patients throughout their treatment experience, maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Regularly check on patients in bedrooms or other areas to ensure their well-being.
- Supporting Treatment Plans
Collaborate with the treatment team to facilitate treatment plans, providing day-to-day support to patients and encouraging positive coping skills.
- Leading Therapeutic Groups
Run and engage patients in therapeutic groups, such as coping skills, relapse prevention, and psychoeducation, for the expected length of time identified in the program schedule.
- Documenting Patient Progress
Accurately document any behaviors or incidents that occur in the milieu, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to program policies.
- Providing Excellent Customer Service
Answer phone calls promptly and politely, transferring inquiries to the therapist, milieu manager, or program director as needed.
- Maintaining a Clean Environment
Ensure a clean and safe environment by completing cleaning tasks during shifts and documenting as required.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university OR
- Two years of experience in a mental health setting or working with adolescents
- Current Driver's License in good standing
- CPI and CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
