  • Acts as the primary responder for nursing and house staff during patient status changes, providing necessary orders and interventions.
  • Evaluates risks associated with the care of acutely and chronically ill patients, considering factors such as medication side effects and fluid balance.
Diagnosis
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to diagnose acute and complex chronic conditions.
  • Manages diagnostic testing through ordering, interpretation, and supervision.
  • Formulates prioritized differential diagnoses.
  • Identifies complications and prescribes appropriate interventions.
Formulating Plan of Care

  • Facilitates communication with patients, families, and staff to ensure continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Professional Practice
  • Exhibits professional practice behaviors, including mentoring and educating graduate students.
