Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our Structural team at Kier & Wright. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and experience working on diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide engineering support to our project teams and take ownership of the design and detailing of civil site structures, power generation plant structures, and foundations.
  • To work collaboratively with technicians to prepare technical engineering plans and conduct engineering research and assessments.
  • To coordinate with private consultants and public agencies to ensure timely delivery of project deadlines and deliverables.
  • To effectively interact with peers, clients, and sub-consultants, communicating clearly and concisely in a prompt and professional manner.
  • To manage multiple tasks and complete work within deadlines, with minimal errors in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or equivalent level of experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in structural engineering, with exposure to all basic building materials (steel, concrete, wood). Experience with Masonry and Light Gauge Steel is a plus.
  • EIT certification is required, and PE certification is preferred.
  • General knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Internet, etc.
  • Steel design, welding, and bolted connection design, concrete, and anchorage design, ASCE 7 load take-off experience.
  • Addition software experience, e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Visual Analysis, RISA 3D, STAAD, RetainPro, or other structural design-related software.
  • The ability to conduct job site walks and prepare detail punch lists.
  • Proficiency in structural FEM modeling software.
