Job Title: Junior Business Analyst - Publishing

Church Pension Group is seeking a highly skilled Junior Business Analyst - Publishing to join our team. As a Junior Business Analyst - Publishing, you will play a key role in supporting our daily financial operations and performing specialized work that requires comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory and GAAP principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create monthly summaries of financial performance and key performance indicators.
  • Support the financial monthly close process, including detailed analyses of sales, cost of goods sold, operating expenses, accruals, and title count.
  • Maintain our royalty system data (licensors, projects, agreements, etc.), royalty accounting, and analysis.
  • Track licensing agreements and outstanding payments.
  • Process Inventory/Cost accounting transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Assist on special projects and analyses (sales trends, cost, profitability, etc.).
Qualifications:
  • Solid business and analytical skills, including comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory and GAAP principles.
  • Accounting support experience specific to publishing.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues across all levels and functions.
  • Experience with data control, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Proven analytical ability related to publishing.
  • Proven vendor management support.
  • Publishing specific knowledge is required, including industry standard practices and global multimarket publishing and implications to operations practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
Education and Experience:
  • BA/BS required, in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 3+ years of corporate book publishing or media industry work experience, with at least 2 years in finance or accounting in an analytical position is required.
Work Environment:

Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG's office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Salary Range:

$59,000 - $73,000
