Job Title: Nursing Educator

We are seeking a highly qualified Nursing Educator to join our team at Unitek College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other instructors to prepare and administer exams, and participate in the preparation of final evaluations.
  • Ensure accurate student attendance and grades are maintained and submitted.
  • Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure program quality.
  • Plan and implement orientation for new faculty in both theory and clinical facilities.
  • Utilize adult learning principles to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Maintain student records of attendance, skills check-off forms, and assist with program data collection.
  • Submit required program reports and forms in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with new technologies and safety regulations.
  • Participate in committee activities supporting the mission and function of the nursing program.
  • Attend faculty meetings.
  • Plan and supervise student clinical experience in assigned healthcare facilities.
  • Evaluate student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes.
  • Provide feedback on clinical performance immediately after observation.
  • Assist in maintaining student records of clinical attendance and skills check-off forms.
  • Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
  • Determine the best method to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
  • Determine if clinical facilities meet health and safety requirements for Unitek College students.
  • Provide access to students for ongoing communication through scheduling of office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
  • Participate in student advising activities.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in nursing or education, administration, OB, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
  • At least four years' experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • A year of clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching applies toward direct patient care). Clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c).
  • Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing: Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics, or OB-Gyn.
