Job Summary

HealthEcareers - Client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join their team in a travel position at a Skilled Nursing Facility. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care and support to residents in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver occupational therapy services to patients in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting, focusing on improving their functional abilities and promoting independence.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities, identifying areas for improvement and developing personalized treatment plans.
  • Implement and supervise occupational therapy interventions, including exercises, activities, and adaptive equipment, to enhance patients' mobility, dexterity, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting, with a focus on occupational therapy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients, as well as perform other physical demands of the job.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
