Records Clerk

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Records Clerk to join our team. As a Records Clerk, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the Sheriff's Office in its mission to serve and protect the people and property of Tillamook County.

• Prepare and process deputy reports, forms, letters, departmental reports, and statistical reports from draft, written, or verbal dictation into appropriate format.
• Assist the public in person and by telephone, direct calls to appropriate divisions, perform counter work, and answer questions courteously and professionally related to division or department activities.
• Enter and retrieve data in computer files using departmental or LEDS systems, following specific procedural requirements and ensuring accuracy.
• Maintain case files, perform filing and record-keeping duties, conduct file and record searches, photocopy for District Attorney, attorneys, insurance companies, and other entities as needed.
• Open, process, and distribute mail, and process and distribute teletype communications.

• Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, systematic filing and retrieval processes, word processing, English composition, spelling, grammar, and arithmetic.
• Typing rapidly and accurately, using computers and other office equipment, including automated equipment and systems.
• Effective communication in both oral and written forms, managing time efficiently, making decisions independently in accordance with established policies, and utilizing problem identification and resolution techniques.

Tillamook County offers a generous benefits package to regular employees working 20 hours or more of the regularly scheduled work week. Employees are eligible for health insurance benefits the first of the month following 80 hours of work in the previous month.
