Position Overview:
The Campus Security Officer is tasked with ensuring the overall safety of the campus. This includes conducting regular rounds to oversee security services, inspecting vehicles, residences, and other facilities, as well as monitoring the grounds. The officer will manage visitor and resident access at community entrances and parking areas, notify law enforcement of any suspicious activities, and provide transportation for residents within the campus. This role requires availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays.

Compensation:
The starting salary for this position ranges from $17.25 to $20.56 per hour. Various factors, including the scope of responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations, may influence the base pay offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of all patrol activities.
  • Conduct routine campus rounds to monitor safety and security measures.
  • Perform vacation checks for residents who are away.
  • Regularly inspect residents' vehicles and the parking areas for safety.
  • Notify law enforcement of any suspicious circumstances.
  • Respond to requests for special security checks for residents.
  • Act appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Oversee the effectiveness of safety and security measures on campus, including surveillance systems.

Qualifications:

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. is preferred.

Training and Experience:
First aid training is required.

Job Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of safety protocols and record-keeping skills are essential.

The selected candidate must successfully complete Eskaton's post-offer, pre-employment assessments, which include a criminal background check, drug screening, COVID testing, TB screening, and health evaluation. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
