As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients, working closely with our physicians and staff to deliver high-quality medical services.
Responsibilities- Provide professional medical care to patients under the supervision of our physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Assist providers and staff in coordinating patient care and serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
- Perform a range of administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, taking messages, and providing information to patients and staff.
- Obtain authorization from insurance carriers for specialized tests and specialist appointments.
- Maintain timely patient flow, escorting patients to exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting patient history, and preparing patients for procedures.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in patient charts.
- Assist providers with procedures and implement physician orders.
- Provide patient education and support, informing patients of information as directed by providers and gathering information from patients to present a comprehensive picture of their needs.
- Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies, materials, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Evaluate patient needs and determine the urgency of appointments, following medical provider protocol.
- Schedule patients for appointments in other departments and clinics, providing patients with basic information on referral physicians and other facilities for further care.
- Virginia RN License
- Ability to travel to both our locations: Norfolk, VA, and Virginia Beach, VA
- Medical office experience preferred
